Create a Short Digital Story—From Script to Storyboard: Apply your knowledge of scriptwriting and storyboarding by creating a short digital story concept. This will help you understand the importance of planning before producing a digital story. Follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Choose a Story Idea (15 minutes)
- Think of a short story concept (it can be fictional or based on real events).
- Identify your main characters, setting, and the central theme.
Step 2: Write a Short Script (30 minutes)
- Write a brief script (5–7 lines of dialogue) including character actions and scene descriptions.
- Keep it clear and structured like a movie script.
Step 3: Create a Simple Storyboard (45 minutes)
- Sketch at least 4 key scenes from your script.
- Use stick figures or simple drawings to visualize each moment.
- Add short notes about actions, dialogues, and possible sound effects.
Step 4: Review & Finalize (30 minutes)
- Check if your storyboard matches your script.
- Make small improvements based on clarity and flow.
- Submit your script and storyboard as a single document or a photo of your sketches.
Bonus: If you finish early, add an extra scene or refine your sketches for better clarity!
